The 2017 session of the Indiana General Assembly kicked off in early January and ICHS has been working in the halls to ensure Hoosiers in need are considered. ICHS holds brown bag “Tuesday luncheons” for members Tuesday through the end of the session (end of April for a long session). Throughout the session, ICHS provides its members with bill lists and talking points on priority issues. For 2017, ICHS will be conducting a beginning of session and final wrap up legislative webinar for human service organizations and interested individuals to learn about key pieces of legislation that will impact Hoosiers in need. Upon conclusion of the session, ICHS will offer a summary of enacted laws and implications for human service providers across the State. There will also be informative sessions regarding relevant policy topics throughout the year, including the annual meeting held in August.
