ICHS Mission Statement
For a quarter-century, the Indiana Coalition for Human Services has successfully brought together a broad range of human service organizations and advocates to speak with one united voice on behalf of Hoosiers most in-need. That voice has said that no matter what challenges the state may be facing, those problems simply cannot be taken out on the backs of the most vulnerable citizens in Indiana. Whether addressing issues specific to children, the elderly, the disabled, or the working poor – or those dealing with health care, mental health or education – or that one angle that clearly affects every issue and segment of the population: sufficient funding for human services and programming – members of the Indiana Coalition for Human Services have consistently promoted policies in the halls of state government that better the lives of at-risk Hoosiers by improving the quality and accessibility of necessary safety-net services.
The Coalition is a statewide organization of more than 25 organizations representing a broad spectrum of interests and populations who come together to advocate with one voice to promote public policy that betters the lives of those at risk and in need.
